Today, on March 8, an event dedicated to the International Women’s Day was held at the office of the “Spitak Helsinki Group” Human Rights NGO.
The event was entitled “March 8 in the context of protection of women’s rights”. The purpose of the meeting was to consider the protection of women’s rights as a priority.
At the meeting, Arevhat Petrosyan, the lawyer of the “Spitak Helsinki Group” Human Rights NGO, spoke about women’s rights, about the importance and true meaning of March 8.
During the meeting a discussion took place, where participating women and girls talked talked about their perception and expectations of March 8.
After the event, the staff and the participating women of the “Spitak Helsinki Group” Human Rights NGO carried out an awareness campaign. Postcards with stories of successed women were given to fellow citizens. About 200 women were informed about the real meaning of the day.
